Reminder that tomorrow, Sunday, August 12th is the Plus One Foundation‘s Family Fun Field Day at Meridian Park from noon to 3:00 pm (yes, that’s nap time for lots of kiddos, whatchya gonna do).
The Plus One Foundation helps pay for rehabilitive activities for children with neurological diseases to keep them strong, active and engaged. It’s $10 for children to participate and $15 for adults
The whole family is encouraged to join the fun. Children and parents participate in field games and craft activities together and share a picnic lunch. University of Washington athletes will distribute medals and certificates of participation to all the kids and the Seahawks Blue Thunder Band will perform a concert.
Plus One Foundation is an all volunteer nonprofit funding participation in non-medical activities that build muscle strength and feed the soul helping people with neurological disorders like multiple sclerosis, head and spin injuries stay strong, active and engaged. Grants can be for horseback riding lessons to build core muscle strength, Seattle parks swim pass because swimming keeps extremities strong so the ability to walk is not lost, as well as artistic classes to keep spirits up. These activities although beneficial to participants health and recovery are not covered by insurance. Plus One fills this gap toward recovery.
Prizes are donated by community businesses. We are hoping to have 100 entries, the more the merrier at Meridian Park, Meridian Ave N. & N. 50th St., Seattle, WA.
Family Fun Day raises funds for children with neurological disorders (“diseases” in’t the correct term above), great organization. The craft table is not to be missed, staffed by Real Artists ; )
