The third annual Clips of Faith Beer and Film Tour is heading its way to Gas Works Park this Friday night, July 27. Sponsored by New Belgium Brewing, Clips of Faith brings 10 independent short films to be projected on an outdoor screen, as well as 20 of New Belgium’s “Lips of Faith” varieties of beer for movie-goers to try. 100% of the event’s proceeds goes to Nature Consortium, a local grassroots, community-based organization that brings people, art, and the environment together. At the end of the night, Nature Consortium will raffle off a one-of-a-kind “Fat Tire Ale” bicycle along with some other fun prizes. The beer garden opens at 8pm and the films begin at sundown.
Some film deets from the organizers:
This year’s films include The Canning Queen of the Desert: Classie Parker, a tale about deep conversations in the kitchen; DamNation, highlighting the controversy over water rights in the west; and Foxy Shazam – Unstoppable, a film entirely created with old school theater trickery, puppeteering and black light.
Admission is free but bring cash for beer tokens. 3 oz. sample are $1.25 and a 12 oz. beer is $5.00. You’re welcome to bring food but leave the libations at home. Don’t forget your picnic blanket or lounge chairs, and for those of you who plan pedal down the hill, a bike valet will be available.
It was a great time last year!
