A new food truck called 314Pie is in the works and if all goes well in the permitting department, it’ll likely be rolling around Seattle by the end of August. 314Pie is the brainchild of Wallingford resident Deke Kotria and his business partner, Casey Cooper. Inspired by his travels down under, Deke brought the idea of savory meat pies back home and collaborated with Casey, a pastry chef, to develop recipes for steak, veggie, lamb, curry, and chicken pies, and even a breakfast pie with egg, bacon and tomato. Plus, they’ll be offering seasonal fruit pies and other goodies for dessert.
Right now, the guys are running a campaign on Kickstarter to raise the funds for getting the truck ready. Folks interested in backing the project can visit their Kickstarter page here (and every backer gets a little something, depending on the pledge amount). They hope to meet their goal of $10,000 by August 12.
YIPEE! Pi Day is my birthday & pie is my friend. Welcome to Wallingford 314.

Is the Uptown Espresso parking lot food truck thing still happening? I haven’t seen any there of late.
Doug, I haven’t seen or heard anything from the Wallingford Eats people in awhile. If I hear anything, I’ll let you know.
Not Only In Seattle: it is less than two months since the horrific shootings at Cafe Racer and this morning it has been reported that going to the movies to see Batman proved to be life-threatening in Colorado. What steps has Seattle taken in the interim since Cafe Racer and what the heck is going on?
