Wallyhood welcomes our newest sponsor, Cometa Playschool (4106 Stone Way North), a neighborhood preschool offering Spanish language immersion. It’s ideal for tots who will be enrolled in the language immersion programs at John Stanford International School or McDonald Elementary.
Students at Cometa are also exposed to world cultures through play and music, and they learn about their role as a global citizen. Once a year, the school participates in community service, and in the past, they’ve done a food drive for Northwest Harvest and have worked with sisterschools.org to help donate to schools in Uganda, East Africa.
Cometa is hosting an open house at the school on Tuesday, July 10, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm and invites parents and children to explore their preschool and Pre K programs. There are a few spots open for both programs this fall, and the Pre K is an afternoon program (1-4pm) Monday-Friday. Cometa will also be at the Wallingford Kiddie Parade and Family Festival on July 7.
Parent Shellie S. writes:
Our son loves Cometa. It has a warm, loving atmosphere and we’re so excited to see him learn Spanish. He starts kindergarten in the fall, but his little sister can’t wait to join Cometa in his place!
Check them out and you’ll see why Cometa has earned the Exceptional Caregiver Award in 2010 from KCTS!

One commenter on our initial post welcoming them aboard called them the “Powell’s Books of Video”. High praise, indeed. And did you know they have 2-for-1 rentals every Wednesday? And now, Scarecrow Video has a coffee/tea bar in the store? Check it out!

We recently bought a new bed for our son at Bedrooms & More, and couldn’t be happier. Wonderful service and the bed was ready in just a few days. What was really shocking to us was just how big the store was – it looks tiny, but once you go upstairs, it goes pretty deep. And yes, we told them Wallyhood sent us.
