I just got something at QFC this afternoon and got a notice that the QFC Select Baby Spinach that we bought between 5/22-5/24 (and have been eating the last few days) has a recall for possible Salmonella contamination. I thought I would let people in the neighborhood know as QFC is frequented by many people around here. More information QFC’s recall page.
I got sick yesterday morning after eating baby spinach the night before, purchased at Fred Meyer on the 23rd…might be a coincidence, but it was still unpleasant!
It is from Taylor Farms in Salinas (middle coastal) California. What is scary to me is how long it takes for alerts like this to travel. I wonder if washing “pre-washed” produce takes the risk away. Sick from food is the worst . . .
Eat it. Then blog what happens!
Washing raw greens with water doesn’t do much to eliminate salmonella.
