
In addition to the clean-up tasks, students will also provide volunteer assistance to Lettuce Link/Solid Ground, Snow Leopard Trust, Seattle Tilth, and a few other Wallingford-based non-profit organizations. They’re also raising “Change for Change” — collecting spare change for local and global charities.
According to Julie at the school’s parent association, “The students collect spare change from their savings, family, friends, and neighbors to support non-profit organizations, researched and selected by each classrooms. This year the benefiting organizations include People for Puget Sound, Wolf Haven, and Drop Foundation, an organization founded by Meridian School student Isabella Todaro to raise money for building sanitary water wells in Uganda.”
