Suppose you had a great idea for a large neighborhood project. Maybe you’d like to start a community P-patch, or install a “Little Free Library” kiosk, or maybe you want to improve or update safety features of a building in the neighborhood. How do you get started?
Well, you can visit Seattle’s Neighborhood Matching Fund website for starters, but if you’re serious about seeking a matching award from the city’s Large Projects Fund, you’ll have to attend one of their three mandatory workshops before submitting your application. The good news is that one of the three workshops takes place next week. Here’s the information from Seattle Department of Neighborhoods:
At the workshop attendees will get an overview of the Neighborhood Matching Fund, learn about the new Large Projects Fund application process, and hear from other city departments and Seattle Public Schools about requirements. Neighbors, friends, and others interested in the funding program are invited to attend.
The Large Projects Fund provides matching awards of up to $100,000 to neighborhood organizations for community-building projects.
Interested applicants only have to attend one of the workshops to apply to the Large Projects Fund:
Thursday, April 19; 5:45 – 7:45 p.m. – Douglass Truth Library, 2300 E Yesler Way
Tuesday, April 24; 5:45 – 7:45 p.m. – Greenwood Library, 8016 Greenwood Ave N
Saturday, April 28. 10 a.m. – 12 noon – Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, 4408 Delridge Way SW

I have a lot of good books I would be happy to donate. Does anybody want to start a Little Free Library in Wallingford?
