Seattle reLeaf program and Tree Ambassador Jana Dilley is coming to Wallingford next week to tend to some young residential trees. She’s looking for a few volunteers who have some free time and would like to help out (it’s Spring Break for Seattle Schools. Bring the kiddies! They’ll love it!) It’s during regular workday hours next Thursday, April 19, from 10:00AM – 12:00PM, but the neat thing is that Seattle Channel will be on the scene to cover the Tree Ambassador Program. Here’s the skinny:
Wallingford Tree Care Workday,
Thursday April 19, 10am – 12 pm
SOS, young trees in distress! To help some young residential street trees grow and thrive over the upcoming summer, we will be freeing them from weeds and giving them a layer of fresh mulch. This will be a great chance to sharpen your young tree care skills. SDOT is bringing mulch, we’ll provide tools, the neighbors are excited, all we need is you! Bonus factor: Seattle Channel will be there reporting on the great work the Tree Ambassadors are doing. We’ll meet at 10 am at the corner of Woodlawn Ave and 35th St in Wallingford. Please RSVP to me ([email protected]) if you plan on coming, and feel free to bring friends and family.
