Power is out! Seattle City Light says:
A power outage that began at 3:06 pm has affected more than 13,000 City Light customers. The general areas affected include Wallingord, University District, portions of Eastlake, Ravenna and Fremont. Restoration of power is expected about 4:30 pm. The cause is still being investigated and crews are on the scene.
Also, it’s pouring rain, sleet and snow. End of days people, end of days.
When I called power outage hotline, they said 7 pm.
It’s back up as of 4:15 here (Near Hamilton).
Maybe the Mayan calendar is 9 months off . . .
Felt like a brewing apocalypse out there. Big black clouds. Car crashes. Beer aisle roped off at QFC. Then – just like that – it was over.
Kids were so disappointed.
Just woke up from a nap after work. When I got home there was no power and a snow squall on. Figured the apocalypse was finally happening. I woke up to sunny skies and power!
Real time info on where the outages are occurring is available at http://www.seattle.gov/light/sysstat/ And then there were 9…
Over around 39th and Densmore the outage wassimply a flicker lasting no more than 2 seconds. By the time it was noticed, the lights were back on.
Friends, it WAS the apocalypse! Congratulations on surviving the END OF THE WORLD. We are now living in God’s Kingdom of 1,000 years, and things will get better and better. Expect the resurrection of the dead to commence very soon!
HALLELUJAH!
Mary,
That “system status” page is pretty cool! Altho I do wonder about the accuracy of its current (haha) statement,
Number of Outages: 6 Estimated Customers Affected: 6
I’m sorry, it’s just wrong to have to re-set the damn clocks twice in the same week! Must speak to City Light about their timing.
And, as long as I’m being grumpy, the City Light says it started at 5:22 and would end at midnight, and that the site is updated every 15 minutes. Good thing we have smart phones — otherwise, it’s sort of like calling Comcast for tech support with an internet outage, and they suggest you go on-line to solve the problem.
