Adam Stoeckle, Wallingford resident and graduate architecture student at the UW, has been working on a thesis project on the farmworker community in the Skagit Valley. He writes:
In honor of National Cesar Chavez Day, all Irwin’s Bakery locations are participating in a fundraiser this weekend to support the farmworker community in Western Washington. A portion of the proceeds from every Caesar Salad purchase will support Catholic Community Services of Western Washington’s “Creating Futures for Farmworkers of Western Washington Initiative.” This initiative provides housing, social services, and community development for farmworkers in order to foster stability, hope, and mutual respect. For more information on this initiative, visit www.ccsww.org/farmworker.For more information on Cesar Chavez, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/César_Chávez.
