To celebrate its first year of business, Wallingford’s Fresh Fitness and Dance (4430 Corliss Avenue N., behind Kabul Restaurant) is hosting an all-day community event this Sunday, February 12. The event is free but they are asking for folks to donate clothing or toiletry items to benefit Mary’s Place, a weekday support program for homeless women and children. They’ll also be collecting donations for the John Stanford International School’s library program.
From Fresh Fitness and Dance:
Our two-part celebration will begin in the daytime with an open studio focusing on wellness:
9:30am-4:30pm: 8 hours of back to back dance and fitness classes! We are holding a fitness challenge: anyone who stays for the full 8 hours of class wins a 6 month membership to Fresh Fitness and Dance!
Between 3:30-6:00pm: Staff from She Wellness will be conducting health screenings. There will also be massages (pre-registration required) and a raffle for prizes that include a Lululemon Gift Card, sauna sessions, facials, artwork and Fresh Fitness memberships!
Our celebration continues with an evening party:
- 6:00-6:45pm: Wine Tasting (Hosted by Wine World) with live music from an Afro Cuban band
- 6:45-7:30pm: Bollywood and Hip Hop dance performances
- 7:30-10:30pm: Live music continues, followed by a local DJ
We’d like to give a big thanks to Wine World for hosting a wine tasting, and to Rain Sushi for donating a generous amount of Sushi for this event!

The links in the last paragraph don’t work…
looks like fun, though. I’ll have to check that place out sometime.
Thanks, Kellie, they should work now.
