On Valentine’s Day we celebrate love, and there is no better culinary expression of love than dessert. At our next Community Kitchen we will join together to make three basic desserts with a romantic twist. As the meal will be sweet, we ask you to bring potluck appetizers, drinks, and easy to eat main dishes so the sugar doesn’t get too overwhelming.
The menu we will cook together is:
- *Espresso Chocolate Chip Bars with Ice Cream
- *Raspberry-Orange Mousse
- *Peanut Butter Cup Pie
Note this special sweet Dessert Kitchen will be led by Emma Notkin, who taught our fun Fall Canning Kitchen.
We will be meeting on Friday, February 17th at our host site, the Wallingford COMMUNITY Senior Center (WCSC), 4649 Sunnyside Ave N, Room 140 Seattle, WA.
We will cook as a community and share our beautiful desserts together. Participation requires pre-registration by February 15; your registration fee covers the cost of ingredients, materials and the facilities. Tickets may be purchased online at: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/225560 or you can mail or drop a check payable to: Wallingford COMMUNITY Senior Center **Please indicate the names of all people attending**

Seattle, WA 98103We also ask that all participants bring an appetizer, drinks, and/or easy to eat main dishes to share with the group (please no bread products as we receive those by donation).
Participation in these events requires a certain level of your commitment; we are cooking as a community and that includes work setting the room, cleaning up and of course the fun stuff of cooking and eating. We ask that you do your best to arrive by our start time. If you are new to Wallingford Community Kitchens, you may want to arrive a few minutes early to find the bathrooms, stash you personal items and get comfortable with the set-up. If for whatever reason you cannot arrive on-time, please plan to stay with us to the end of the night to help with clean-up. Ideally we will try and wrap up by 9:00 pm – the ability to do this truly depends on each and every one of you and your commitment to step up and proactively keep us clean throughout the event.
As always, bring along your appetite and some containers for any leftovers. The WCSC is always in need of extra containers, please bring along your gently used and clean plastic yogurt, sour cream, salsa, etc. containers to contribute. A quick reminder, if you are ill, we ask that you use your good judgment; always remember to wash your hands carefully when handling food and especially after sneezing or blowing your nose.
Thanks & looking forward to seeing all of you there!
