Next Tuesday Night, January 17, from 6-8pm, Hamilton International Middle School (1610 N. 41st. Street) will host its third annual Science Night, where “Dozens of exhibitors from the UW and local organizations will share their scientific passion through hands-on activities: herpetology, mycology, nanotechnology, oceanography, sustainability and more!” Having been, I can honestly say it’s a fun-filled evening guaranteed to bring out the science geek in big kids, little kids, and grown-ups, too. You’ll hear lots of “oooh’s” and “ahh’s” and maybe some “eww’s” if the folks demonstrating what hairy wastewater looks like will be exhibiting again this year.
Wallingford volunteers for The Think Green Recycling Challenge will be on-hand to talk about how our neighborhood will can will win the $50,000 grant that’s up for grabs. They’ll also have specific information on how to recycle certain things in Wallingford and Seattle, and there might be a fun game or two to test your recycling knowledge.
Also, the folks helping to plan the Wallingford Neighborhood Greenway will be onsite to talk about our awesome greenway project along with the Cascade Bike Club, who will be putting your mad pedaling skills to use for making bicycling smoothies!
