Ever wonder what Wallingford Center used to be before it was Wallingford Center? Spin back the clock to 1904, and you’ll find them opening the Interlake Public School, the first school in Wallingford (Latona followed in 1906 and Lincoln in 1907).
Interlake closed its doors in 1971 (leaving the building vacant for 15 years: and you thought the Festering Pit at Stone Way and 40th was an eyesore!), so, if we do our math right, that means that students in the last class to graduate would be just old enough now…to ask that we don’t do our math right.
