Earlier in the month, we told you about the citywide SHARE shelters that were closing because of lack of funding for operational costs. This included the SHARE shelter here in Wallingford, at Gift of Grace Church. After shutting down for 11 days, SHARE announced on Friday, October 21 that its 15 indoor shelter network would reopen. Wallyhood welcomes Adam Lee to our merry band of writers. Adam recently graduated from college in Vermont, and has since moved westward to seek his fortune in the fertile soils of Puget Sound. His roommates chose to bring him to Wallingford for its central location between UW and the downtown and for its fine neighborhood establishments, and as he gets to know the area he appreciates their foresight more and more. Sock Monster will be taking over about 200 square feet the space recently vacated by Not A Number Cards and Gifts. Sock Monster’s owner Holly tells us they’re hoping to move into the additional space around November 1 (hopefully Halloween, though!) after some painting and other chores. The new space will double Sock Monster’s window front.
