Here’s an update from the developers of Stoneway Village, including some new photos, and a new name:
It’s been a while since our last update and a lot has progressed since then, the building is now framed, the roof is on, brick work is almost finished, the plumbing and electrical rough-ins are about half way through, and pre-drywall and elevator work has started! Whew!
We worked hard through the summer and had minimal rain through the fall which really helped get the building sealed up and kept mostly dry. That makes for a much easier, cleaner construction process. The outdoor common areas are defined and have turned out great. The design details of those areas are starting to come together. We have a fantastic roof top terrace which will have popular features that will appeal to Seattleites. Overall the most dramatic aspect of the building is the impressive outlooks from the individual units. It’s the first thing that is mentioned by anybody that walks through the building. As the front siding materials are being installed, the next consistent comment is the recognizing of detail of the exterior elevations. The variety of windows and now the installation of the brick and framing of the commercial/retail window spaces have caught everyone’s curiosity for the rest of the exterior pieces.
The brick along Stone Way and at the north and south ends is complete. The siding work is mostly complete along the east side of the building and paint will start next week. As the siding installation progresses, we continue with inspections by our third party exterior envelope consultant.
We are working to complete the sewer work at the connection point in Stone Way. This has been quite an interruption. We have met the date for permanent natural gas to be hooked up, another critical phase in moving ahead with the interior finish. Permanent power has been a hurdle, but Seattle City Light is moving towards inspections and installation starting at the end of the month.
The crane….Our general contractor, Compass Construction, is looking to be done with the crane in early February. In order to do this, the roof landscaping materials, mechanical rough-in materials and the sewer work needs to be loaded and complete.
On the marketing side of things, we are coming out with new signage/banners/leasing information. Our new name for the project is “Prescott Wallingford”. We are excited to have our new website up and running! Please go to www.prescottwallingford.com and see some preliminary information. There is a registration page if you are interested in registering to be the first to be contacted as we start up our leasing in the spring. We will continue to add information to the website as details get firmed up, so please check back regularly.
The building continues to get a lot of Commercial and Retail attention since it now has such a big street presence along Stone Way. Retailers are recognizing this location as a key area. As we have mentioned in previous updates, we have met with several interested tenants. The activity has been very good, but nothing is firm. We will continue to report when we have tenants secured. The commercial space is listed by Tiffini Connell, West Coast Commercial Realty, 206-283-5212, [email protected]
Thank you in advance for your interest in “Prescott – Wallingford”. We appreciate your patience as we move through the construction stages. We know there are some that have been inconvenienced. But we continue to try to keep our communication with our neighbors open. If you have any concerns or questions, you may now use our website as there is a comments section on the registration page, or contact me directly at [email protected].
We look forward to reporting more updates soon!

I want to rent a live/work space there. How do I get more information?
Thanks!

Nice views of Lake Union from the Prescott Wallingford slide show. Some of those view will be blocked by the Skanska project at 34th and Stone Way because they are upzoning for that project from 45′ to 65′.
Margaret you might want to get involved with the Wallingford Neighborhood Council to preseve those views.
Wasn’t Prescott Wallingford an old prep school friend of Frasier and Niles Crane?
It seems ironic that this development would be so concerned about its views being blocked. You mean like you’ve done to other homes? Sorry, can’t whip up any sympathy. And no, I could certainly see you wouldn’t want to call it a village when it bears no semblance to a livable walkable urban village. If you wanted to be honest, you could call it “Encroaching Ballard Overlords”, “Scattered Finishes” or even what we here in Wallingford will end up calling it….That Ugly Thing at 40th and Stone.
Dear ISME: The project was called Stoneway Village as the DRB presentation noted that it was to be viewed as “A Village That Evolved Over Time…” with 5 distinct districts which reflect the very fun & eclectic neighborhood surrounding the site, such as Arts & Crafts Bungalows, Commercial, Industrial, Historic Warehouse, etc, etc, between Wallingford & Fremont neighborhoods. THAT is why there’s a mixture of materials as one material would have made this appear as a long monolith. Also, if you live at Stoneway Village it IS a walkable, urban village with living, retail & grocery store in one project along a walkable street with corner plazas & bus stop. So… you would rather have the Ugly Hole of a Pit that was caving in from above?
Clue…get one dude.
soooooooooo, there is a great case for Stone way village as a name… and the name is changed to prescott/ What is the new significance? Terrible to ask, will this name change?
