On Monday night around 8pm, fire trucks closed off a section of N. 45th St. at Burke, and some of you asked what was up. We discovered that it was a rollover accident. This picture was taken by Amy:
Amy wrote, “All that I know about the accident is that the driver hit the curb, probably making a turn, and one of the wheels exploded and the car flipped over. There were several police cars and a fire truck or two blocking the intesection of Burke and 45th for all westbound traffic.”
Thanks, Amy, for sharing the photo with us! We hope the driver of the Mini is ok.

How fast must one travel to accomplish that little feat?
I’ve seen it happen with someone going about 30 miles an hour – if your tire is bald, the pressure of hitting the curb will make it explode.
My reaction was the same as jro’s: when is traffic ever moving fast enough on 45th for a rollover accident, regardless of tire condition? Hope everyone’s ok.
I think the driver is ok, according to someone wrote on our Facebook page:
“I’m pretty sure the driver was okay. I saw her crawl out of the car and walk over to get checked out in the ambulance.”
