We just received the following note from Amita, owner of the Art of Gifts, the shop tucked in next to the 45th St entrance to Wallingford Center:
Amita “The Art of Gifts” at the heart of Wallingford on the steps of Wallingford Center will be closing mid January 2012. I am sad to announce this news to the many people who have entered my life through the store over the years. It has been a great 9 years here and wish there could be many more. The economic situation has been challenging to ride for the past few years, like many others, am finding my shop no longer sustainable. This ending is the natural course of things which does not take away from the fact that it was a joyful experience for me to create this shop and see the faces of many pleased customers and friends with the items purchased or received from this boutique. I will miss the many personalities that have become a part of my daily life here in Wallingford.
I am grateful for the support each and everyone of you gave me through out the life of the shop. I wish you the best in the coming years and hope to stay connected in some way. Please come by in the next few weeks to take advantage of the up to 50% off sale on all remaining inventory or just to say hello.
I hope this shop has been of benefit to the community and the people who have been a part of it. May we meet again.
I will be continuing my other career as a massage practitioner for now and perhaps in the future will create my own massage studio.
Amita
We’re so sorry to hear that, Amita. It’s been a difficult time for retailers all around, we know. May your practice bring comfort to those you serve and your future endeavors be bright.
