To truly enjoy the Thanksgiving meal, we think you need work up a bit of an appetite. In years past, we’ve enjoyed a Thursday morning ultimate frisbee game down at Woodland Park, some touch football at Gas Works and even a bit of four-square and dodgeball at the John Stanford School playground once. The food certainly tastes better for this key piece of preparation.
Lisa Steele wrote to let us know she’s offering another alternative:
I’m a yoga teacher @ yogalife (in Green Lake, Queen Anne, and OmCulture in Wallingford). I do a donation-based yoga class on Thanksgiving morning, and last year we moved it to OmCulture, as we were getting a great # of people, and the OmC studio is MUCH bigger! (last year w/the snow I still had 50 yogis come to practice and donate)
Lisa will “artfully combine asana, pranayama and meditation with focus on giving thanks for the wonderful gifts that we have in our lives,” 9:30 – 11:00 am on Thanksgiving morning. The donations benefit the Queen Anne Helpline and the Seattle Animal Shelter. See the OmCulture web site for more info.
