This is Juan — a former staff member at the Wallingford Boys and Girls Club — covered in Cool Whip. Juan was a Wallingford Boys and Girls Club member since he was 10, then he became a counselor, and now he’s a freshman at WSU.
But, back to the photo—this was taken at the annual Halloween Hoopla the year Juan became a counselor. You can see what sort of initiation the newly minted counselors endure.
Creaming the counselor is only one of the many fun activities offered at the Halloween Hoopla, and this year the Wallingford Boys and Girls Club can surely use some donations to help make it a great night. Right now, they’re looking for some Cool Whip for the aforementioned counselor-creaming event; but they could also use bags of candy and some prizes for carnival games, as well as some cake mix (delivered on Friday, October 28) for their cake walk.
If you’re interested in donating, you can e-mail Meghan Sweet ([email protected]) or call her at 206-547-7261.
This year, Halloween Hoopla will be held on Saturday, October 29th, from 6-9 p.m., and everyone from the community is invited to don their costumes and come to the Wallingford Boys and Girls Club (1310 N 45th St.) for a great night of family entertainment. The Hoopla features a haunted house (scary-for older youth), Frankenstein’s Lab (perfect for all), carnival games, a cake walk, arts & crafts, and much more. Entry is just a buck for five tickets, and if you bring cans for the local food bank, you’ll earn even more tickets.
