On October 9th, GraceFeast will celebrate its second anniversary with… guess what? A neighborhood meal! Didn’t see that coming, did ya?
Vivian Little , the neighbor who was kind enough to tell us all about GraceFeast two years ago when it started, extends the following invitation:
I would like to invite you to the weekly, family style meal hosted by the Gift of Grace Lutheran Church (2102 N. 40th St) that is celebrating it’s two year anniversary on October 9th, 2011. All are welcome to this neighborhood meal served at 11:30AM in the lower level of the church.
GraceFeast creates gracious space around which persons can eat and get to know each other regardless of social status. It is different from a soup kitchen or feeding program in the way it encourages personal interaction.
Local businesses and neighbors have given their support by donating food on a regular basis. The anniversary meal will be a thanksgiving meal of Roasted Turkey, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, salad greens donated by Irwin’s Neighborhood Café and Bakery, warm bread donated by Essential Baking Company and homemade cookies baked by Wallingford neighbor, Rebecca.
We look forward to celebrating our diverse neighborhood with you over a delicious meal!
Thank you,
Vivian Little
Wallyhood says NOM NOM! And then Wallyhood says, thanks neighbors. Thanks.
