We got an update on the recent closing of Bandolero. Owner Jay Farias sent out an email to customers on Tuesday, explaining:
Dear Friends,
Many of you may have already heard that Bandolero has shut its doors. Yes, it’s true. We were made an offer last week from an interested party and, after much thought, it was accepted. Thank you all so much! The staff at Bandolero and I have enjoyed our time together with you over the past year and a half and will miss your company and friendship. We wish all of you the very best of luck in your future endeavors. The new owners will be bringing a new and unique concept to the Tangletown neighborhood that I know you’ll love. I’ll leave it up to them to fill you in on the details.
We hope to run into you around town some time in the near future. Seattle is a small town, after all. On behalf of the staff at Bandolero and me, we thank you!
Sincerely,
Jay Farias

A commenter on our original post suggested that perhaps this wasn’t quite the out of the blue surprise that Jay suggests, though.
We also checked in with Melissa Benaroya, who created the Green Lake Moms Deal Coop (of which Wallyhood is a partner), about the disposition of Bandolero’s September 7th coupon sale. Melissa let us know that anyone who has not used their coupon can request a refund through Deal Coop. You can see a list of your coupons and a link to support on their web site. Sorry about that hassle, folks.
