Our chum to the north, My Green Lake, is reporting that Tangletown’s Bandolero, which morphed from the Pour House, which in turn replaced the Luau Lounge, has shuttered its doors:
“I was there Saturday night at 9:30 and it was open as usual with a decent group of customers,” Bandolero patron Sonja Hardenbrook told us. “Walked by Sunday at 3 p.m. and it was all closed up with a goodbye letter on the door. Bummer. I am very sad to see them go.” […]
Bandolero stood empty today (Monday, Oct. 3, 2011). A sign on the door simply reads: “Dear Friends of Bandolero, Regrettably, we’ve closed for business. Our sincerest thanks for all of your support and friendship over the past 2 years. We’ll miss you. Bandolero Staff & Ownership.”
Their web site and Facebook page make no mention of the closing, and Jay Farias hasn’t responded to MGL’s inquiries yet, so little to add that this point.
Unfortunately, there is probably little recourse for anyone who purchased a Bandolero coupon through the Green Lake Moms / Wallyhood Deal Coop earlier this month. We’re inquiring to confirm that now and will post an update when we hear.
We’re very to sorry to see Bandolero go. The food was great, Jay, the owner, was friendly and Ryan, the bartender, had a deft and often heavy hand. Good luck on whatever comes next.

I am sorry to see Bandalero leave, but am anxiously awaiting La Casa Azul on 45th to fill the void.
Bandalero was really good but the carne asade was soo overly spicy (needlessly so) that my wife and I never returned. I loved the one time we went, but that was it for us.
Bring on La Casa Asul…. we cannot wait !!!!
Best of luck to the owners and exployees of Bandalero !
I would especially be sorry if I was one of the many who in the past few months had purchased any of the many groupon type deals the fine folks at Bandolero were hawking….knowing full well their time was coming to an end. Maybe if they had a decent chef in their from the launch of Bandolero they could have built a stronger food customer base and not just bar revenue. The “Chef” was a joke and had never even worked in a restaurant before. Luckily for her (chef) she bailed a month ago knowing the ship was going down. Hope the rest of the employees can find work soon.
