Update: Wednesday, October 5, 10:54am: Despite what the P-I reported yesterday (see below), the attempted robbery took place at Key Bank on N. 45th, and not Wells Fargo. A spokesperson from Key Bank verified this and said there were no weapons involved and the suspect was apprehended near Meridian.
A would-be bank robber was apprehended today (Tuesday, October 4) in Wallingford, according to the SPD Blotter:
On October 4th at approximately 10:40 a.m. officers responded to a bank robbery in the 1700 block of North 45th Street in Wallingford. The suspect was gone upon the officers’ arrival. Preliminary investigation indicates that the adult male suspect presented a note to a teller but left the bank empty handed. No weapon was seen.
Shortly after responding to the call, police apprehended a 45 year-old male suspect in the area. He’s been arrested and booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
The Blotter doesn’t specify which bank it was, but the P-I reports that it was the Wells Fargo branch on the corner of N. 45th and Densmore.
It wasn’t the Wells Fargo….it was the Key Bank.
Thanks anon. We just received confirmation that it was Key Bank.
