The good peeps at Seattle Weekly have put together a fun food competition called Seattle’s Neighborhood Snackdown! where readers are encouraged to vote for the best neighborhood for good eatin’. I’m pretty confident that we’ve got some of the best eatin’ digs in all of Seattle. We bested Madrona last week and have moved to the second round of the contest where we’re now up against Fremont.
Now, I’ll be the first to tell ya that Fremont’s got some pretty good eats, but we’ve got more variety and some pretty talented chefs on our side of Stone Way. So what say ye, Wallingford? Feel like showing some neighborhood love and voting? Click here to vote.
Them using the term “Snackdown” makes me want to vote for Fremont, because they have better casual/snacky dining than Wallingford has. But, if the definition truly is better overall dining, I think Wallingford edges Fremont out because they have better overall fine dining. (Joule, Tilth, Art, Cantinetta, Elemental). So, Wallingford gets my vote, but just barely.
Luckily, I live on the border between the two ‘hoods, so I can enjoy both and not have to worry my pretty little head too much about which one is betterer.
Stone Way is not the border between Wallingford & Fremont, at least not North of Bridge Way – which means Wallingford gets to claim Art of the Table and Llama G’s.
Just FYI
Right, Gayle–The Weekly’s own website lists Art of the Table as Fremont.
Wallingford is down in the voting, despite my best efforts. Consider this a call to arms, people! The voting is still open and I suggest Chicago style, early and often!
