Last year, Jordan created a Yard Art Map, showing locations of outdoor art scattered through the neighborhood, and asked readers to contribute to the map by adding more art spots. Since then, the map’s grown to about 20 pieces Wallingford-wide, and it just goes to show ya–we’ve got some great outdoor art! The organizers of Wallingford Walks agree, which is why at this Saturday, they’ll be roaming around the neighborhood to enjoy our neighborhood’s yard and public art. Everyone is invited to attend:
Wallingford Walks is at it again! This month we’re exploring Wallingford with two UW Masters in Art History to take a look at yard and public art throughout the neighborhood. This is not a gallery walk, but an exploration of the artist in all of us. What does art mean to you, to your neighbors, and to the Wallingford neighborhood? Come find out!
The walk will be at a moderate pace and will be about two hours long, although they’re known to run a little long. All ages and generations are welcome and encouraged to come!
Meet at Tully’s N. 45th St & Meridian Ave N. Saturday, August 13th at 10:00 am.

Wallyhood folks – I was disappointed to see they painted over the mural building on 35th/Stone Way where had a character that said, “Don’t mess with locals.”
Public art sometimes disappearances, so it’s good to document.
@Matt — agreed. And we called them a few weeks back and asked them what was up. They said to “stay tuned…” so maybe the mural will be back?
