King and Snohomish County PEPS (the Program for Early Parent Support) offers a series of talks for parents, with the majority of them here in Wallingford at the Good Shepherd Center (4649 Sunnyside Avenue North). Their upcoming talk, scheduled for this Wednesday night, July 13, from 7-9pm is “How To Get Kids To Behave (And Still Like Yourself As A Parent)” with Dr. Patricia Nan Anderson. Here’s a summary of what you can expect from the lecture:
We all want the same thing: well-behaved, self-disciplined kids who get along at home and in the neighborhood. But we worry about being mean, demanding bullies ourselves or about being soft, spoiling pushovers. Find the path to effective discipline in this lively seminar and you will achieve the serene, happy family life you and your children deserve.
Dr. Patricia Nan Anderson is an educational psychologist who helps parents develop the skills and perspectives necessary to raise well-adjusted, happy, successful kids. PEPS 2011 Parent Talk Lecture Series
The PEPS Parent Talk Lecture Series was developed so that parents can continue to learn and share with others beyond their initial PEPS experience. Parent Talk Lectures typically fill, so pre-registration is required. While we offer our lectures free to parents, we hope you’ll consider making a suggested $10 donation to help PEPS continue to offer these events in the future. Please note that PEPS hopes to deliver informative content free of disruptions at our lectures. Babes in arms (under 6 months) are welcome, but we ask that crawlers and crooners stay home with a caregiver. We appreciate your understanding!
