Seattle Police Department are conducting another “Pedestrian Crosswalk Enforcement Patrol” to catch crosswalk violators on Stone Way, between N. 40th St. and N. 41st St. today.
Back in March, SPD wrote 33 crosswalk violation tickets in the one hour and fifteen minutes they were on Stone Way.
I am glad that the police are targeting this crosswalk since the Hamilton student was hit trying to cross there a few years ago. Also, my dance school which is located there has a lot of students walking about in that area and cars are going too fast to try to catch the green light.
I agree with Valerie. I live in the area and I am a pedestrian on Stone Way on a regular basis. I feel like I’m taking my life in my hand because people are always driving too fast and don’t yield to pedestrians. I hope they gave out a lot of tickets!
