Last week we told you about the construction over at the former 7-Eleven spot on Stone Way and 47th. A few of you have even told us that folks over at the Post Office mentioned that Bill the Butcher and Zaw Pizza were planning to take the space, and someone in the Twitterverse actually had the chance to talk to a construction worker onsite. So we tried reaching out to Bill the Butcher corporate, and so far, no luck; but last night, Joseph sent us this snap:
So, we’re calling it official for Bill the Butcher.
Now, as far as Zaw Pizza goes–here’s the skinny from Joe Sanders, their restaurant operations supervisor:
We’re currently in the exploratory phase for our next store, but have no word as to where that will be or when it will open. As we move forward with our expansion, we will continue to revisit Wallingford as a potential site, as we know we have many fans in the neighborhood. We’ve met so many amazing Wallingford residents in our two summers at the Farmers Market, and are so excited to be back again this summer!
If the time comes to come to open our doors in Wallingford, you’ll be the first to know. (Not only are we big Wallingford fans, we’re big Wallyhood blog fans, as well!)
Please feel free to contact me directly in the future with any additional questions.
That’s really exciting!
“Bill the Butcher corp.”, you gotta love this!
Farmers market in Wallingford or University will still be where I get meat after reading these stories: http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/mystery-meat/Content?oid=4040872 and http://slog.thestranger.com/slog/archives/2010/05/25/bill-the-butcher-responds-sort-of.
On the other hand, I noticed that the building has a two-tone paint job, and the Zaw truck was parked outside again this morning. How cool would that be, to have Zaw here, too?
So now that Bill the Butcher is broke…
