Next Friday (July 29), New Belgium Brewing is hosting their “Clips of Faith” Beer and Film Tour at Gas Works Park, beginning at 8pm. Enjoy an evening of New Belgium Beer, food from local eateries, and a special screening of films that were shot by independent filmmakers and chosen as this year’s winning Clips of Faith.
The annual “Clips of Faith” contest, held by New Belgium Brewing, challenges filmmakers to produce films from 10 seconds to 10 minutes in length. They can be on any subject, but, of course, bonus points are awarded for those who incorporate one or more of these three themes: 1) Craft Beer; 2) Sustainability; and 3) Whimsy (spoofs, giddy candid moments, or anything worth watching). Seattle filmmaker Sam Nutterman received honorable mention for his film, “Millionaire’s Club,” which will be one of the films screened at Friday’s event.
Admission to “Clips of Faith” is free. New Belgium will be serving seven of their classic beers and seven from their “Lips of Faith” line. A 3-oz. sample of beer is $3.00, and a 12-oz. beer is $5.00. All proceeds will go to Nature Consortium (www.naturec.org), a grassroots, community-based organization whose mission is to connect people, arts and nature. Sustainable Seattle (www.sustainableseattle.org) will handle the recycling. Outside food is welcome; alcohol is not. Bring low chairs or blankets – or lounge on the grass.
