Last week, we told you about Seattle Tilth’s city-wide Chicken Coop and Urban Farm Tour. This week, we get to announce the Wallingford-centric “Birds, Bees, and Maybe a Goat.” Cameron Miller, who is helping coordinate this year’s Wallingford Walks, invites us all:
This has been a very popular event where walkers visit several ‘urban backyard farms’ in the neighborhood. This guided walk will make stops at homes where the owners keep bees, chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, as well as grow fruit and vegetables. Home owners will be present to welcome walkers and describe the joys of their urban farm. This walk is suitable for all ages and will be moderately paced over 2 hours.
So here are your deets:
- What: Wallingford Walk, “Bird, Bees, and Maybe a Goat”
- When: Saturday, July 16th, at 10am. Rain or shine.
- Where: Meet outside Tully’s Coffee at 45th & Meridian. Just look for the tour guide with the clipboard.
- Cost: Totally free!
Wallingford Walks are sponsored by the Wallingford COMMUNITY Senior Center and Sustainable Wallingford.
Sounds like a fun one for little guys. Too bad we won’t be able to make it 🙁
This walk is being at least partially led by our awesome Cooped Up in Wallingford 4H Club kids! http://greenwallingford.ning.com/group/4hclub.
