Here’s a recap of recent crimes here in Wallingford:
SeattleCrime’s Jonah Spangenthal-Lee reports “two ‘methheads’ driving an egg-like car shot up another man’s vehicle” here in Wallingford on the evening of May 23. From SeattleCrime:
…The victim exited I-5 at 45th NE and was driving westbound around 10:15 p.m. on May 23rd when another car pulled up next to him, and the passenger in the other vehicle threw something at his car. The victim initially thought the passenger had thrown a rock at his car, and called 911…
…Officer Robert Burk wrote in his report, noting that the metal in the man’s car door was ‘severely deformed from the bullet strike.’ The victim told police the suspects—who he described as ‘methheads’—were driving a white vehicle that looked ‘like an egg.’ The victim told police he saw the suspects laughing at him as they drove away…
Seattle Weekly’s Daily Weekly has photos of some possible egg-shaped vehicles.
A Wallyhood reader wrote this to us last Sunday:
I know there were a number of burglaries mentioned on Wallyhood recently and at least one of them mentioned flowers. Well today I returned home from Sky Nursery to find that an ornamental grass had been snatched from a pot next to my doorway and that a window sill planter was mysteriously missing. How disappointing to find that this would happen in the Wallingford.
The grass was somewhat unique in that its blades were all black. The planter was less remarkable – a green mesh with a synthetic brown liner. This happened Sunday, May 29 between 12.30 and 4.30 on the 4400 block of Burke Ave N just across from Wallingford Center.
Marmauset posted this to the forums last week:
This morning weirdness started with an early morning knock from my kind neighbor around 6:15 am. At my house at 42nd & Meridian some idiot decided to play with fire at the base of the huge maple by the sidewalk. They left a small smoldering fire near the bottom of the tree. Thanks to the Seattle Fire Dept. for coming to finish my feeble fire fighting job. Thank you to my kind neighbor who clearly is more devoted to exercise than my sleeping bones will ever be. My bedroom overlooks the sidewalk and I saw and heard nothing. This unfortunately seems like a new event in a consistent trend of general weirdness in the neighborhood.
To which Jen replied:
Hmm, maybe a late breaking miracle (aka burning bush) from the Saturday rapture.
This is about the stolen black grass. This is good information…you might want to check a house on N. 46th st house number is 1800 right on the corner. You might find your stuff there.
