Are you ready to see spring in full swing? Our neighborhood has an incredible assortment of gardens, and if you come out to the Wallingford Garden Tour on Sunday, June 5, from 10am-4pm, you’ll get a chance to talk with the owners and creators of several gardens and meet other garden lovers. Jennifer Veninga, Wallingford’s Garden Tour coordinator gives us a summary of what you can expect to see on the tour:
Enjoy a self-guided tour of ten private gardens in the Wallingford neighborhood. This year’s tour features a variety of gardens throughout the neighborhood. Many of the gardens combine ornamental features along with edibles. You will see the spirit and craft of the DIY movement along with professionally designed gardens. Discover creative ways to use materials, create screens, get ideas for seating areas, and lovely plant combinations. Meet Arlys Pederson, a longtime Wallingford resident, who created a beautiful garden for source material for her art form, Garden Poundings. In addition, tour goers are invited to tour her studio and view the art she creates using the foliage and flowers in her garden.
Tickets: $15; Children under 12 are free. You can purchase your tickets now at the following locations:
