Wallyhood welcomes Reed Painting of Wallingford, specializing in residential repainting and light commercial work, as our newest sponsor. You’ve probably seen their paint around: they donated the paint used in the new Art Walk mural on the side of Bottleworks, and about once a year, they offer to go around the neighborhood picking up and recycling those old, half-used cans of paint you’ve got tucked away in your basement.
REED Painting was founded seven years ago in a house at 39th & Eastern, but recently moved to a new shop just off of Stone Way behind Rodda Paint. Randy Reed, President and founder of REED Painting, has lived in Wallingford for the past 10 plus years and “has no immediate plans to leave”. They note that nearly 80% of their customers are either repeat or referral based. Some of their notable repeat customers include the Seattle Art Museum, Pike Place Market, Hilton Hotels, as well as many houses around the greater Seattle area.
Thanks to Randy and his crew for their support! Also thanks to our other fine sponsors:
- Lakeside Dental: Smile!
- Bedrooms and More: Another great example of why it pays to buy local: the people who own and run this store are local folks who want you to have a good night’s sleep and, while they’re at it, want to make the world a better place. Readour welcome message to get the feeling for who they are, then ask yourself: do I deserve a good night’s sleep?
- Green Cleaning Seattle: You’re busy, you want a clean house, you care about the environment. ‘nuf said.
- Smash Wine Bar and Bistro: Regular wine tastings, happy hour on appetizers and drinks, an outdoor patio, what’s not to like?
- Cooper Jacobs: Chances are, if you’re reading this, you already live in Wallingford. But maybe you rent and you yearn to own. Maybe you just need a different house. Want to talk to someone who specializes in Wallingford real estate? Find yourself a hidden gem.
- Scarecrow Video: Scarecrow Video is not just one the best independent video stores in Seattle, it’s one of the best in the country. One commenter on our initial post welcoming them aboard called them the “Powell’s Books of Video”. High praise, indeed. And did you know they have 2-for-1 rentals every Wednesday?
- Lesli Dalaba of Treetop Acupuncture bringing comfort, health and well-being to Wallingford from her backyard aerie.
- Michelle Quesada, Wallingford-based architect specializing in sustainable designs.
- Murphy’s Pub, celebrating their 30th Anniversary this month (watch for the upcoming story)
- Bandolero Restaurant and Tequila Bar, serving affordable, authentic Mexican food in a cool and comfortable neighborhood atmosphere with a great vibe.
