I’ll give you some good news and some bad news regarding April 15 (this Friday):
The good news is that, while April 15 is typically regarded as the deadline to turn in your Federal Tax Returns, the last day to file for 2010 has been extended to Monday, April 18, in observance of Emancipation Day. Woot!
The bad news is that Friday, April 15 is the last day to enroll your kiddos in Seattle Public Schools this fall. You have until 4pm to fax, email, or drive your paperwork down to the John Stanford Center in SoDo (directions here) , and unlike the IRS, Seattle Public Schools won’t accept documents postmarked on the 15th. For more information on how to enroll, and to download the necessary paperwork, visit the Seattle Public Schools website.
Of course, if you don’t have kids going to Seattle Public Schools this fall, then none of this applies to you and you can just kick back and enjoy Emancipation Day on Friday. We’ll see you at the Wallingford Post Office on Monday.
