- 7:00-9:30pm Friday Night at the Meaningful Movies at Keystone Congregational United Church of Christ (5019 Keystone Place North) presents the film “TAPPED” (76 min, Stephanie Soechtig & Jason Lindsey, 2009), Is access to clean drinking water a basic human right?…Or an article of commerce? “TAPPED” examines the role of the bottled water industry and its effects on our health, economy, climate change, pollution, and our reliance on oil. From the production of plastic, to the ocean in which so many bottles wind up, this film follows the path of the bottled water industry into the communities that are caught at the intersection of big business and the public right to water. “TAPPED” is a behind-the-scenes look into the unregulated and unseen world of an industry that aims to privatize and sell back the one resource that ought never to become a commodity: our water. Join us following the film for a facilitated discussion. Price: FREE!
- 6:00pm-8:00pm Wine World (400 NE 45th Street). Japanese Assistance Night. At Wine World, we take the “world” part seriously. Help us raise funds for our friends across the Pacific, the Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims. While our tastings are always free, we encourage a $10 donation to help raise funds for the relief efforts. We’ll pour wines from around the world. Come before you go out!

- 1:30 PM-? Drum Circle at Gas Works Park is back: “We had a blast last time we did this at Gas works park, so lets do this again. The idea is very simple, please show up with whatever drums you have and get ready for a jam. If you don’t have a drum yet, that’s cool too! Some of us carry spares (I will carry two). The way we did this last time was one person in the circle holds the base Rhythm and others are free to embellish or build a structure on top of the base rhythm. Every few minutes the person holding the base rhythm and the base rhythm itself change. Very fun and pressure free, not all of us are professionals!”
