Jiggles, the Gentleman’s Club that has operated just over our border on Roosevelt in the U District, has been closed by court order today.
“Superior Court Judge Suzanne Barnett awarded the injunctive relief sought by Assistant City Attorneys Bob Tobin and Carlton Seu at the end of an hour of oral arguments,” according to the Seattle City Attorney’s office. “Barnett rejected the First Amendment argument that was central to the defense by Jiggles’ owner Bob Davis … As long as its zoning rules are reasonable, Barnett said, the City has a right to disperse adult cabarets throughout the City. The City claimed the location of Jiggles violated a zoning buffer requirement because it is located within 800 feet of a school, child care center, community center and public park.”
Jiggles could not be reached for comment.
If you didn’t make it there before today, you’ll have to make do with the Wallyhood review we posted last month, Niggles to Jiggles.
Right on!
Glad to see them go!
Good!
Uptight Seattlites win again!
Good riddance!
Yea! Let’s stamp out anything that doesn’t mesh with our uber-PC sensibilities!
