Hello and welcome to the first installment of Wallyhood’s new weekly contest, which we call (cue the theme music) “What in the Wallingford?”
The idea came from Paul Dorpat, who mentioned that The North-Central Outlook used to run a What-Is-It-Where-Is-It contest, in which readers would try to correctly identify an object from the neighborhood featured in a photo (examples below).
It has that playful, homey, small town feel that we so love, so why not? So, same deal: each week, we’ll be running a (cue the spooky music this time) Wallingford Mystery Photo. Your job is to correctly identify it. First person to leave the right answer in the comments section of the post wins! So simple, right?
Or is it? Because this is our first (spooky music again) Wallingford Mystery Photo:
This week’s winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to the delicious Smash Wine Bar and Bistro (1401 N 45th St). Many thanks to our kind sponsor.
(Also, if you’ve got a camera and shoot a mystery photo we use, we’ll make it worth your while. E-mail us at [email protected]!)
The top of the Taco Time sign!
I think Jared’s right.
Yeah it’s the Taco Time
Absolutley Taco TIme!!! Yummiest fast food ever!!!
Dang, 6 minutes. I guess we need to make the next one harder. Roving photographers, help us out!
Jared, nice work! We’ll be in touch to coordinate your prize.
Well, I’m 13 hours late, but at least I guessed it right!
Ya, most stores on 45th will be instantly recognizable.
Hate to be a nit picker, but how about trying roving (not roaving) Wallyhood? Love this web site and thank you for your informational posts.
@Native: Fixed! And I swear I’ll play the wild roaver no more.
Yeah, I guessed Taco Time from the Google reader pic
