Calling all Wallingford green thumbs!
The Greenhouse Project is looking to recruit some volunteers to help grow fresh and organic produce for local food banks. Volunteers will be dedicating their time towards growing thousands of vegetable starts in a lower Wallingford greenhouse, which then will be distributed by Lettuce Link to P-Patches around the city. All vegetables will then be donated to food banks.
If you’re interested in volunteering for the local greenhouse project there is an orientation and workshop on Saturday, February 26, 10:00am-12:00pm at Solid Ground (1501 North 45th Street).
According to the Greenhouse Project:
We are looking for dedicated volunteers who can commit to spending approximately an hour at the greenhouse one day per week during the growing season (March-June). We will meet in the first-floor conference room at Solid Ground. Please enter through the back of the building, near the parking lot.
*To RSVP please email Abby Klingbeil: [email protected].
Thanks for posting, Wallyhood! Just to clarify, the greenhouse is on Meridian, not too far from Gasworks.
