Clean out the attic and dust off those family heirlooms! Artifact ID Day is just around the corner, taking place at Seattle Burke Museum (UW campus at 17th Avenue NE and NE 45th Street), Saturday, February 12, 1:00-4:00pm. The museum is calling all treasure hunters and future American Pickers to this favorite perennial museum event. There will be local experts ready to analyze your treasures and interesting finds (no appraisals will be given).
Did you receive any unique family heirlooms this holiday season? Perhaps fall cleaning unearthed some interesting find in the basement or garden? The Burke’s specialists may be able to figure out exactly what that thing-a-ma-jig is! Burke curators and others affiliated with the museum will be available to identify cultural objects from the Northwest Coast and specimens from throughout the natural world (including bones, fossils or animal teeth). A limit of three items per visitor is requested due to the event’s popularity.
*Artifact ID Day is included in the price of museum admission.
