If you’re planning any winter cleaning this month, Sarah Ihrie wants you to know that her organization, Rebuilding Together Seattle, is seeking donations of supplies to help with their programs. From their web site:
RTS provides donated repair services for homeowners in need so they can continue to live independently in warmth and safety.
About Us: Rebuilding Together Seattle was established in 1989 and is part of the national Rebuilding Together organization. We are a volunteer, charitable group and repair or rebuild homes at no cost to low-income homeowners, particularly those who are elderly, disabled or families with children.
Does someone you know need help with repairs or cleanup of the home they own due to financial or physical limitations? Contact RTS or pass along an application for assistance and we’ll get in touch.
RTS also helps rehabilitate non-profit facilities! Interested parties can contact RTS for more information.
What they’re looking for now are things like first aid kits, smoke detectors, latex gloves, grab bars, safety goggles, cleaners, garbage bags, light bulbs, etc. Imagine you were rehabilitating a house: what would you need?
Donations can be dropped off at the Seattle Bank at 1227 Allen Pl N (next to Tutta Bella) off Stone Way (or any Seattle Bank location).
