This year’s budget cuts have impacted our community and families in many different ways. The Green Lake Community Center has been at the center of many of the proposed budget cuts, which could have a big impact on nearby Wallingford.
Pathway Of Lights, though, which had been in jeopardy of being blown out for good due to budget cuts, is saved. This Seattle holiday tradition will continue to glow thanks to two private companies who have already offered to support the event.
According to My Green Lake:
And, while the Pathway of Lights requires more funding than the 2011 budget allows for, it will remain in 2011. The Parks Department has heard from two private companies who have offered to sponsor the event.
So this Saturday, December 11, from 4:30pm – 7:30pm, RAIN or SHINE, the lake will be surrounded by thousands of candles. The holiday spirit will be in full-swing, as local musicians, carolers, and warm beverages/treats lighten our community on this dark December evening.
