We’d like to thank each and every one of you who turned out at the Blue Star last night for our first ever Reader Meetup. We had a great turnout and really appreciated meeting you and hearing your thoughts about the neighborhood, and ways we can make Wallyhood even better.
Among the thirty or so neighbors in attendance, we finally got the chance to meet folks like Anne, Mike Ruby, John, SeattleAlan, Peg, Kimberly, and Shirley. Many of you told us that we should hold reader meetups more often, and we wholeheartedly agree.
Thanks for helping to keep the dialog going on Wallyhood!
A big “thanks” to Blue Star for be such a gracious host!
– Margaret
I want to add my thanks to Margaret’s: I was a little nervous going in to the meet-up: what would we talk about? What were people expecting? It was so nice to see people just fall easily into conversation with each other and get to know their neighbors. It was also very gratifying to hear from so many people what a difference this blog has meant in creating a sense of community and connectedness among its readers. That kind of feedback is what makes all the hard work worthwhile.

I am so sorry to have missed this. Please plan another one!
Indeed! I was sickly and could not attend but dearly hope to make the next one!
It was great to meet some of the folks that I’ve seen in comments over the years. Blue Star did a great job as a meeting place for us, too!
I’d like to suggest the next one be on a Wednesday again, but starting at say, 8:30?
