As they do every year, Dick’s Drive-In will be offering a free hamburger or cheeseburger to any veteran or active military service person who shows ID on Thursday, November 11th (Veteran’s Day). Dick Spady, the Dick’s founder, served in the Navy in WW II and the Air Force in the Korean War. He met his wife when she was serving in Navy in 1954.
Dick’s, we salute you.

Looks great, but I think it should read “I.D.” like “identification and not “idea.”
Aw, Ron, isn’t that lowering the bar? I mean, if they can just show identification, and not have any ideas, how is this country ever going to right itself?
OK, OK, correcting my typo.
I thought this was a neighborhood blog… that photo is not of the Wallingford Dick’s.
Look who joined the Twitter today? http://twitter.com/dicksdriveins
I never noticed the difference in the signs. Isn’t that Holman road Dick’s?
Steve
Nice, I’ll be back in town for a freebie. 🙂
A HUGE THANK YOU doesn’t even come close to how much appreciation I have for our Veterans, past and present.
THANK YOU,
Steve
E30 Memorial is correct. Holman Road.
The neighbors Dick’s is just as good…..so it’s OK. (insert Smiley here)
