Remember a few weeks back we mentioned Wallyhood had teamed up with Green Lake Moms to offer steep discounts at local businesses? Today’s is one we can really put our heart (and stomach) behind: $10 for $20 worth of food at Bandolero, the new Mexican-fusion restaurant that replaced the Luau in Tangletown (and that was briefly named The Pour House).
We’ve eaten there ourselves a number of times and have been impressed both with the quality of the food, the friendliness of the waitstaff and the expertise of the bartender and mixologist Ryan Tatum. Jay Farias, the owner, has managed to put together a comfortable, cheerful and tasty place to eat. Here’s their promo:
Born out of a “Taste of Mexico” menu, inspired by Mexican street food, Bandolero takes authentic Mexican food to a new and delicious level. Standards like tacos, tostadas and pozole are just a few of the magnificent items served alongside pollo en mole enchiladas and Bandolero’s signature chili relleno. Chef Rochelle Sems has recently created a wonderful menu for Sunday Mexican brunches as well. Remember to ask about their incredible, homemade carrot cake!
Don’t miss our amazing happy hour from 4-6pm and 10pm to close daily! Remember, the whole family is welcomed in our all ages dining section with a $3 kids menu to boot. Yes, happy hour is available in our family section too.
Did we mention that Jay also assembled a collection of 62 different tequilas to choose from?

I’m going to have to get us one of the coupons. I’ve used Groupon several times, and it is pretty cool.
btw – I used to buy candy at this location when it was Gorline’s Grocery store. We had 2 neighborhood grocery stores in the 60’s. Lamont’s grocery store was over where the Elysian now is (the Honey Bear location to many folks).
