Tonight, Stone Soup Theater (4035 Stone Way North) will preview its newest production — The Real Inspector Hound and The Boundary, a “play within a play” comedy murder-mystery, directed by Zachariah Robinson. The production will run Thursdays through Sundays beginning tonight (10/28), until November 21.
Here’s a summary from Stone Soup:
Two theatre critics, Birdboot & Moon attend a performance of a British, ‘who-dunnit.’ The mystery is set in the 1920’s at a weekend party at Muldoon Manor, where ‘all roads lead in, but not out’. The party guests assemble for bridge and the police announce on the radio that an escaped madman is on his way towards the Manor. As the mystery continues with unexpected shootings and red herrings, Birdboot and Moon become increasingly more involved in the production’s actual action, eventually finding themselves characters in the play. Enter the Real Inspector Hound to crack the case and in glorious Stoppard fashion, everyone’s identities are questioned and the solution to the mystery is entirely unexpected!
Stone Soup Theater is offering $10 ticket prices for both the preview night, Thursday, October 28 and the opening night, Friday, October 29. Regular general admission ticket prices are $16-$20, $13 for those who under the age of 30. Evening showtimes begin at 8 p.m. and Sunday showings begin at 2 p.m.
