The Halloween goings on have started to flow in. OmCulture (2210 N Pacific St), for example, has two, yes, count them two events going on Saturday 10/30.
First, from 3:30 to 5:00 they have a Halloween version of their monthly Ecstatic Family Dance time: “Come dress up with your kids and dance the mystery, magic and adventure of Halloween! We’ll have LOTS of hoops, scarfs, bouncy balls, pillows, instruments and more to play and boogie with….as well as some Halloween treats! Feel free to bring some to share! Cost: $5 each – kids 2 and under are free.”
Then, starting at 7:30 pm, they start with a family friendly live-music dance and playtime. “This one is geared more toward the adult folks who want to come out and play but can’t because they have kids or can’t find a baby-sitter,” explains OmCulture director Michael Suzerris. “The first set, which features local bands Luc and the Lovingtons and Adrian Xavier goes till about 9:30. We have various DJs in-between live sets to keep the floor hopping. From 10 pm, it basically turns into an adult (just as in older folks) costume/dance party. This is an alcohol-free event, so even though we will be catering to the later night crowd, things will stay on the mellow side.”
But who ever said alcohol-free has to mean mellow, when you’ve got ecstatic dancing?
