Hot on the heels of our missing/recovered Boxer pups story, we received a plea from new Wallingford neighbor, Brooke:
His name is Tycho and he is a 4-year-old male, neutered Bengal cat. We are new in town and heartbroken about losing him. We live off of 40th and Stone but got a call yesterday that he may have been seen around 35th and Densmore. Please help! We love him very much and want him to come home.
If you see Tycho, please contact Brooke in e-mail: [email protected] or call (323) 702-5809.
We hope Tycho finds his way home soon!
I just saw this & am a block away. Will head out & call his name now…
…and will do so again in the morning on the way to work!
We still haven’t found Tycho, but it feels really good to be in a community where people are willing to lend a hand. Thank you so much for your help.
I saw the poster about the boxers and I’m glad to hear that they are safe. I’ve also seen the posters for Tycho and have been keeping an eye out. As far as I know Pinkerton (“dusty orange” tabby according to the posters) is still missing in the same area. 🙁
I think tags with addresses on them are a good idea. When I meet a cat in the neighborhood I usually check the tags to see if they’ve wandered away from home.
He did have a tag, but he has a knack for losing tags and collars. He also has a microchip but so far we haven’t been contacted. I hope we get him back, and when we do I’m going to get some kind of cat lojack for him if I can!
I may have seen Tycho last Saturday at 36th & Burke during my produce sale. There was a new cat hanging around wearing a pinkish collar who was very friendly and even ran into the house.
If the above location might even be correct I’ll mention the cat at my kid’s bus stop tonight at pick-up. We pick-up at 39th and Burke and trust me for the next few weeks we will do nothing but stand around for quite awhile waiting for the bus to show up. The first few days are miserably late!!! Can you confirm his collar color as it may help us identify him? Is the picture above accurate?
The picture above is accurate– he is a Bengal, so he looks like a tabby crossed with a leopard. He’s very pretty. He’s about 12-15 pounds and has a longish body and green eyes. His collar is red with sharks on it but he might not wearing it anymore.
We’ve been getting calls about a cat with a purple collar around the 35/36th Wallingford/Densmore area but I went to check it out this morning and it isn’t Tycho. If you do see that cat, her face looks like Tycho’s but Tycho has more distinct spots.
Thanks to all of you for lending a hand. It really means a lot to me and my family 🙂
Cats new to a neighborhood love to explore and sometimes they go into open garages, and get stuck when the owner closes the door. That has happened to our cat twice that we know of, because it was our neighbors who saw him race out the door when they opened it. So Tycho may just come strolling in in a couple of days. I hope so anyway. I’ll keep my eyes open.
