Don’t be thrown! Wallingfor Art Walk is the first Wednesday of the month, and even though it seems strange that Labor Day is still six days off, tomorrow is the first Wednesday of the month.
So what all is going down this month?
- Seattle Bank (1227 N. Allen Place, across from Tutta Bella) will be showing Tracy Wallschlaeger‘s oil paintings: “She was the recipient of both The Morris Merit Scholarship and The Little Art Gallery Scholarship for her artistic and academic achievements….Her influences include Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe and local artists Z.Z. Wei and Lois Silver.”
- Seattle Mosaic Arts (1325 North 46th St) will be “featuring different artists’ interpretation of the same 10″ x 10″ mirror.” They add “to complement the mirror show, this month’s Theme Night (monthly evening event where folks work on same project, with aim to finish it in one sitting) is Mirror Mosaic/Mosaic Mirror–on Sept 15th.”
- Blue Star is featuring the photos of Laurie Zak & Megan Burke (http://greenrootsphoto.com/)
- Re-Leaf Massage is featuring the work of m.Eugene from Portland, OR. They’ll also have have chair massage, refreshments, and discounts for massage services.
- Fuerte Fitness will feature “From Words to Birds”, an art exhibition with works by Miguel “Wero” Cuevas. Cuevas will give a lecture and answer questions about his art from 6:00PM –
9:00PM. - Cutz will have a performance by Zaphara’s Middle Eastern Dancers in addition to art on the walls. And we hear that Colleen and Phillipe, who have been organizing Art Walk for years but have always had to mind their own store for the day itself, plan to actually walk around to other shows this month!
- Lief Totuseck will be playing his Afro-Cuban cross-culture fusion music at Wallingford Center from 6:30 – 7:15 pm.
- Caffe Appasionato will be featuring Siolo Thompson. He will have cookies and italian sodas for the artwalk!
- Dandelion Salon will be featuring Elaine Mowery. She has previously shown at Fuel in Wallingford, but is showcasing new work here in September.
And we’re sure there’s more, but we’re off to the largest art walk in the world, so it’s time to skedaddle. Thanks to Tara Shuttleworth for assembling some of the info above!
