Since there isn’t a whole heck of a lot going on in Wallingford this weekend, we wouldn’t blame you if you trotted over to Capitol Hill for its annual block party. The three-day passes are long gone but there are still single day tickets available for Saturday and Sunday. Just be sure to come back to Wallingford afterwards!

BBQ at Leny’s
Saturday, July 24th from 1 – 4 pm (beer garden until 9 pm). A smokin’ BBQ AND a fundraiser for Familyworks. On the menu: pork shoulder, beef brisket, salmon, potato salad, cole slaw, corn muffins and beer. They’ve got the outdoor lot next door fenced off, so folks can enjoy the sunshine and word is there will be some local bands and maybe a DJ. $12 in advance / $15 at door. Learn more here.

Joule’s Urban BBQ
Sunday, 3-9 p.m. This week’s menu celebrates Marseilles, France, featuring grilled squash, Salad Nicoise, summer grilled ratatouille, Bouillabaisse, peach tart, and much more. Tickets for each Sunday are $18 for adults and $10 for kids, and are good for your choice of hot dishes, and a “picnic table” filled with a selection of cold dishes, non-alcoholic drinks, and desserts.
